Salt Lamps

 EdenScapes is having an event for the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society.  They have been in their present facility since the early 1960's and have outgrown it.  Also, the building is slipping off its foundation.  We need to help them out...they do such good and deserve some coming back to them.  So Please Come join us on Aug. 15th.  We're having an arts & crafts and old car show.  It's potluck for the BBQ, bring a side dish and the main course is hot dog.  Donated prizes for silent auction and drawing. 

A few of the prizes are a new circular saw from Thomas Lumber, a desktop hard drive from RadioShack, 3days & 3nights boarding from Paws Awhile Dog Resort, a 3hr. cruise on Sea Wulff Sailing Charters around Pt. Townsend, a white sapphire ring from Weissfield's Jewelers, a jigsaw and a hand palm sander from Hartenagel's, a restaurant package that is over $350 in coupons and still climbing, and many other wonderful prizes.  All proceeds go for the Humane Society, so buy from the vendors and bid on the silent auction and buy drawing tickets and 10% of whatever EdenScapes sells goes to the Humane Society as well.  The Adoption Mobile will be here and KSQM 91.5 FM will be here too. Time:  10 am to 4 pm.  BBQ:  11am until we run out.

Here is a great recipe using any one of our Rose City Pepperhead or Mick's jellies:


Stir Fry Sauces

 

 Sweet and Sour

Stir 1/2c Apricot with an Attitude, 1/4 c ketchup, 2T cider vinegar, and 1tsp., minced garlic in a small bowl until blended.

 

Thai-Coconut

Whisk 14oz light cocnut milk, 2T brown sugar (you can use raw sugar), 1T gr. curry paste, 1/2c Thai-Mandarin or Hawaiian Jalapeno' jelly & 1/4c mint in a sm. bowl until blended.

 

Ginger-Soy

Stir 1/2c orange juice, 1/4c reduced-sodium soy sauce, 2T honey, 2T water, 1/2c hot ginger jelly, 1T minced scallion, 2T cornstarch (or you can use arrowroot or tapioca flour), and 1tsp. sesame oil in a small bowl until cornstarch (or whatever you used as a thickener) is dissolved.
