EdenScapes Humane Society Event
Winner of the Award-Diane Shager's 1929 Pierce Arrow
EdenScapes Humane Society Event August 15,2009 was a fantastic day. It turned out really well considering Anne had never put on a fundraiser before. She wants to thank all the vendors and classic car owners for helping us make a good presentation as well as KSQM 91.5 FM, First Choice Professionals, Clallam Co-op, Shager Properties for supporting and sponsoring us. The event raised $2165.68 which is not bad for the first time ever. It's not what Anne hoped for, but it will help the Humane Society's operating expenses. There needs to be a lot more for a new location between Port Angeles and Sequim and a new building, so please continue to give.
Edenscapes wants to thank all the Humane Society's volunteers, The Peninsula Dream Machine volunteers that helped on the prize table, The Peninsula Dream Machines and The Sequim Valley Car Club that brought their beautiful classic cars out to show. People's Choice Award (made by George March) was given to Paul & Diane Shager for their 1929 Pierce Arrow. It was a toss up between Rand Gilbert's packard, but the people spoke and said most definitely The Pierce Arrow with it's fine style and glamor!!
Anne learned a lesson never to schedule a wedding on the same day of the event. But thanks to Kindryn Domning everything turned out beautifully, she will be doing weddings for Anne whenever possible. A special thanks to Mike Peacock (Chambers Creek Collision in Tacoma) for coming over and BBQing and helping out with signs and wherever he could. Also to Jack Peacock for helping deliver the flowers and cleaning up the yard and helping with the signs. A special thanks to Diane McCrimmon and her sidekick Vivian from the PDN that made Diane's wonderful Phillipino shish kebobs. She also donated a gift certificate for $150 for the prizes. They had a wonderful flavor and a spicy afterglow...very yummy!!! Anne had to be quick to get Kindryn and herself a piece. They were gone almost instantly!!
A very special thanks to Elaine Caldwell (Olympic Theater Arts) for the painting of the signs, Chris King (Line & Design Graphic Arts) and Mark Grime (Computer Mark) for making the flyer, and to the rest of First Choice Professionals for their support and encouragement! Thank You Catherine Harper for distributing flyers around Port Angeles when it wasn't possible for Anne to do it!
